Snow Report for Mount Mawson

    • Report Date: Wednesday 18th July
    • Report Location: Off Mountain
    • Resort Status: Closed
    • Snow Play: Yes
    • Road Status: Check status on 03 6288 1319
    • Snow Fall last 24hr: 3 cm
    • Snow Depth: 15 cm
    • Snow Conditions: Fresh
    • Forecast: More snowfall if forecast later this morning and continuing through to tomorrow
    • Notes: We’ve seen a considerable loss of snow since last weeks falls. Just a few cm of fresh snow has fallen overnight. The next front and associated snowfall is due to commence later today and is forecast to continue through to tomorrow. If we’re going to get any decent accumulation this week, then this is our chance. The STSA and Oldina club (on duty this weekend) are keeping a close watch on things with the intention to run the tow if we get enough snowfall. There are still some points that ski patrol is working through in relation to setting up a new first aid room. Much has been prepared and anticipated already, and the focus now is on creating a comfortable and adequate facility. STSA and Ski Patrol will continue to work towards this goal once a decision is made that there’s enough snow for the tow to run. We’re reasonably confident the volunteer spirit and hard work that Mount Mawson is so famous for will prevail. So we’ll have a good crack at “making it happen!” (edited 11.40am)

I've been involved with Mt Mawson since 1990 as a volunteer and I'm a member of the Oldina Ski club. I'm into skiing, a bit of snow boarding, snow shoeing and I'm partial to taking the odd photo.
