As all followers of skiing in Tasmania will be aware, all of Tasmania’s national parks and reserves have been closed since March 26th as part of the government’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 through our community. As a result the STSA working bee at Mt Mawson originally scheduled for this weekend has been postponed while the mountain is closed.

The STSA Committee is liaising with Parks and Wildlife to ensure that the Mt Mawson ski infrastructure is safe and secured for the winter.

The committee met this evening by video conference, and were optimistically reminded by that some Tasmanian ski seasons can be as late as September. Hopefully the current difficult situation will have improved substantially by then.

In the meantime we can continue to reminisce about being out on the snow, as illustrated in this great indoor movie by Philipp Klein 👍 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HrIVWziJ0Y
