Ian has put in an extraordinary amount of time and effort to get the new Summit Cam installed and operational. A big thanks from everyone Ian! The cam provides us with a great view across the mawson plateau to the Rodway Range.

As many of you know, the conditions have to be just right for us to get the Rodway Tow up and running. Often, if the main ski area staff resources are stretched, we just don’t have enough qualified staff to send over there. In order to run Rodways, we are legally required  to have one tow manager and one ski patroller at the Rodway Tow at all times. In addition at least a couple of helpers are needed to assist in the set up and close down. So importantly, this new cam will now provide Tow Managers with vital information about the snow cover on the Rodway Tow and hopefully assist them to plan extra staff in advance of a weekend.

I've been involved with Mt Mawson since 1990 as a volunteer and I'm a member of the Oldina Ski club. I'm into skiing, a bit of snow boarding, snow shoeing and I'm partial to taking the odd photo.
