The STSA has developed some ideas for a new Alpine Visitors Centre / Day Shelter at Mt Mawson to replace the old Sitzmark lodge which was condemned and then subsequently demolished in Summer 2013. The proposal has been presented to the key political parties and the Tourism Industry Council, in the hope that Government funding can be provided to build this key piece of infrastructure for visitors to the Mt Field alpine areas.

A link to a copy of the presentation can be found below. Many thanks to the STSA committee and particularly the President, Peter Davis, for all their work on this.

I've been involved with Mt Mawson since 1990 as a volunteer and I'm a member of the Oldina Ski club. I'm into skiing, a bit of snow boarding, snow shoeing and I'm partial to taking the odd photo.

mate, just had an idea for your new lodge. what about you start a fundrasing fund and anyone/business who donates more than $1000 to it gets their name on a plaque in the public day use area.

we’ld only need to get 750 people to donate and there’ld be a new lodge.

btw epic opening day of skiing. yewwwwww.
