The access road to Mt Mawson from National Park, the Dobson Highway (honestly, after 20 years I still can’t say that without smirking!), is due to open late this afternoon. This from our contacts in DIER: Work on the Dobson Highway is underway. Numerous trees are down across the road, these are being cleared and once done, the snow plow will be sent up to clear the road and the Lake Dobson carpark. The clearing activities aren’t expected to be completed until late today
And from our Parks contacts: Two excavators are working on the road. They are clearing trees off the road prior to sending the snow plough up. As of publishing this, they have reached the Mt Field East car park.
