Whilst 2014 was not a great snow season, that has not deterred STSA volunteers from thinking ahead to what can be improved for 2015. Planning is underway to complete the snow fence work undertaken last Summer, as it is clear that the fences provide an enhanced capture of snow when it does fall. We are also keen to ensure that the ski tows and slopes are ready for when Parks and Wildlife construct the new Visitors Centre / Alpine Day Shelter to replace the current inadequate shipping containers. The Minister for Environment Parks and Heritage has written to us advising that PWS are currently reviewing submissions made during the recent public consultation process, and also thanked STSA for its efforts in providing skiing in Southern Tasmania.

The next meeting of the STSA Committee will be held this Wednesday night (15th October) at 8 pm at the North Hobart Baptist Hall in Elizabeth Street.
