STSA Volunteers from the Wellington Outdoor and Ski Club have headed to Mt Mawson to operate the tows this weekend (22-23 August). There is still excellent cover on the slopes, with only slight impact from some light rain on Friday. Temperatures are forecast to drop again, with a top-up of light snow forecast for Saturday evening and Sunday. For all those outdoor enthusiasts who have wanted to go to the snow the past couple of weekends the good news is that the road has now been well cleared. 2WD and 4WD vehicles should still carry chains, as the road can be slippery if it freezes overnight.
Come on up to Mt Mawson and enjoy some great skiing and boarding in Southern Tasmania.
