It was another great weekend of skiing and boarding at Mt Mawson this weekend, with excellent snow cover and both Uni and Mawson tows operating on both days. Saturday was a bit cloudy and drizzly, but on Sunday the temperatures dropped, the sun peeked through and the snow conditions were excellent. We even had a couple of centimetres of fresh snow to add to the great base that is already there. Thanks to Perry Cunningham, Rod Stolorz, Annette Levis and the rest of the Wellington Outdoor and Ski Club who did such a great job of running the tows all weekend. Thanks also to our dedicated Mt Mawson Ski Patrollers, lead by Paul Vince and Liz Koolhof.
On the way home it was great to see that the Lake Dobson road is now completely snow-free and clear all the way to the carpark (thanks Kim and Gary). The carpark has been well cleared so that there is plenty of space for visitors who come to visit the snow. And to top off a great weekend the Derwent Valley was looking spectacular on the way home…
