Floral Display at Mt Mawson

The contrast between winter and summer in the Tasmanian mountains is quite remarkable, and this season has been no exception. The alpine areas of the Mt Field National Park have been a garden of colour, with the Richea Scoparia in particular putting on a spectacular display. Peter Davis took these shots on the Mawson Alpine plateau in early January 2017.

Peter is Immediate past president of the STSA, and a member of the Oldina Ski Club. He has been coming to Mt Field for many years, and is an intermediate skier who can get down most black runs, but without much style.
