No doubt you will have heard about the big cold outbreak approaching Australia at the moment. Unfortunately, it looks certain that the significant snowfall will be pushed north up to the Australian Alps, mostly missing Tasmania. Ah well, close but no banana…again! We just need one of these systems to be bang on Tas and we’ll be up and away.
Report from Weatherzone:
“A strong cold front will deliver healthy snow to the Alps this weekend with between 20-40cm collecting. At times, the snow level should lower to around 1000 metres, particularly on Sunday which looks to be the coldest day. Conditions for snow sports will poor with a high chance of blizzard conditions, but Tuesday is looking promising for with lightening winds and snow showers continuing. A second system looks to follow soon after with lowering snow levels around Friday”. weatherzone.com.au
