Your chance to become a qualified Ski Patroller

Mt Mawson Ski Patrol is keenly interested in gaining new members.  Ski patrolling involves rendering first aid in the skifield.  This is mainly via skis or snow board.  Membership involves committing to our patrol roster three weekends each year for three years, and attending an on-hill training day.  If there is no skiable snow at the time, you are free of that rostered weekend.  When on rostered patrol skiing is free.

To qualify as a patroller, there is a nationally recognized course.  On gaining certification, this allows one to patrol in any Australian skifield and in a number of other countries.  The qualification includes Remote Area First Aid as well as more advanced first aid techniques.  The course costs $450 for committed patrol members; more than triple if not a patrol member.  Early 2026 has the only course to be held in Tasmania in a three year cycle.  You need ordinary level 2 first aid certification in order to enroll (eg Red Cross or St Johns).

Please email Andrew on h_a_davey@yahoo.com.au if interested in joining our patrol.
