It was a great election day working bee. On Saturday a large contingent of volunteers tackled the tasks of refuelling the Mawson and University tows and repairing the snow fences. Ski patrol leaders (Andrew and Paul) were busy and held training to recertify ski patrol volunteers.

Our volunteers in action at the University tow fence
With Craig and Rod from HW club taking the lead new slats were placed on Mawson tow fence and then in the afternoon two new panels were erected at the University tow that required a team of people (some borrowed from the MMSC working bee) to move and erect the new fence. During the weekend Paul and Tim installed the base station UHF aerial and radio in the ticket office that will greatly assist in communication. Many other tasks were done as part of continued maintenance and improvement of operations.

Ambrose refreshing the tow operation health and safety
On Sunday we held a training/refresher day for our dedicated tow manager and ticket office volunteers. Craig and Ambrose reminded all participants on the necessary health and safety requirements prior to some hands on for opening, running and closing the tows. An important aspect of running the tows is managing the ticket sales. Training in our eftpos system occurred throughout the day. A big thank you to all our dedicated volunteers and we look forward to a bumper ski season!
