Great Cover on the Uni Run – Mt Mawson Skifield 21 September 2024

It was a spectacular weekend for skiing at Mt Mawson, and with the Mawson tow out of action with a damaged rope it was an opportunity for the Uni Tow to be used as the main lift. The Uni run is regarded as more of an intermediate run, and it provided excellent conditions for a good crowd of skiers and boarders on both Saturday and Sunday.

A huge thanks for the small band of volunteers from the STSA and the Mt Mawson Ski Patrol who dug out the tow, operated the tow, and manned the ticket office and first aid room to provide this special winter experience.

As can been seen from this evening’s camera image of the Mawson Tow there is still an excellent snow cover on the ski field, and with more snow forecast for Wednesday and Thursday next week things are looking optimistic for more skiing next weekend (28-29 September).
