We had a late snow season this year and more snow is falling, but we expect to remain closed till next year. The Southern Tasmanian Ski Association (STSA) would like to thank our dedicated volunteers, the public, Parks and Stornoway (snow clearing) for making this year a success for skiing and boarding at Mt Field. It takes dedication to make the trek from the Lake Dobson car park up to the snowfield. But those that do get to experience a friendly volunteer run snow field, Australians most southern. We are now planning our summer activities to maintain and improve the rope tows and hopefully solve the cornice at the top of the Mawson Tow to reduce the need for digging!

Thanks also go to the Mt Field based clubs that make up the STSA who provide the volunteers that enable us to operate. Antal Hanke is one such volunteer from the Oldina Ski Club who has been our treasurer for 20 years. As treasurer Antal has provided a guiding hand to the finances and is leaving us this year with the finances in good shape. The STSA is indebted to Antal for his long service as treasurer, he will be sorely missed. We are now looking for a new treasurer, so if you are interested and a member of one of the STSA clubs then please make contact. Be rest assured, the term is not 20 years!
