The turning of the fagus (deciduous beech) reminds us that Autumn has arrived, and also that it is time for the STSA April working bee. The STSA Committee met last night, and although as always there are plenty of tasks to be completed it was agreed that this weekend we will run just a single day working bee on Saturday 20th April.
Tasks to be undertaken include snow fence repairs on the Uni Tow (led by Rod Stolorz), tow hut repairs and maintenance (led by Craig Larsson) and tow pulley maintenance (led by Ambrose Canning). Rudy Kloser and Craig Larsson will also be discussing specifications for an upgrade to our remote area power system (including batteries and generator) as a result of a generous donation.
Ski Patrol trainer Paul Vince will be on hand to offer certification tests for Ski Patrollers who are re-certifying for the coming season, and Annette Levis will be offering training on ticket office procedures and the use of the iPad Point of Sale terminal. Coffee will be available to keep everyone motivated! (and we have also put in an order for good weather for this working bee!)
To participate in the working bee please meet at the Lake Dobson Gate at 10:00 am on Saturday.
If you are unable to attend perhaps you could consider making a donation to STSA instead? Following a couple of poor snow seasons funds are very tight and any donations will be of great assistance in keeping the ski field operating. There is a donation button on the website at www.mtmawson.info – its an easy click to use PayPal and every donation helps to keep Tasmania’s unique volunteer-run ski field in operation.
