Fagus sculptures appearing at the new Mt Mawson Public Day Shelter

It is great to see the continuing progress on completion of the new visitor facilities at Mt Mawson in the Mt Field National Park. Vos builders are continuing to work hard on completing the interior fit out, and this week observant web-cam watchers will have observed some brightly coloured sculptures appearing outside the building. These are metal sculptures representing the changing colours of Tasmania’s deciduous beech, which will apparently also act as very trendy ski and board racks in the winter. Very cool!

The anticipation continues to build for the opening of this wonderful new year-round facility – stay tuned for dates and details.
