Report from our roving President, Peter Davis:

Work is underway to improve the lower section of the Mt Mawson ski tow. The work is being undertaken for PWS by the same excavator driver who so skillfully removed Sitzmark Lodge earlier this year.

Before works

The work involves the removal of the two piles of rock and spoil left over from previous works a number of years ago, and the creation of a flat loading area at the base of the tow.

During works

The removal of the rock piles has improved the amenity and safety of the slope by removing the infamous “Mawson chute”, and the new loading area will make it easier for snowboarders and beginner skiers to access the rope tow.

Remediation begins

The plan is to cover the disturbed area with fabric, and then to sow it with alpine grass in the Spring. A big thanks to Brendan Moody, Mark Pharaoh and Peter Mooney from Parks who have arranged this work in response to requests from STSA for improved facilities at the Mt Mawson ski field.

    Hi Bishwa

Site looks great – very glad to see you got the webcams working. Do you mind if I include a link to your site as a demo of what our plugin can do?

    Regards

Hi Mike, thanks but unfortunately I’m still unable to use your plugin at this stage. These views are just pulling in the latest shot from each cam in html (so no history available as hoped for with your plugin). The theme developer has agreed to look at updating his code so that your plugin works, but it’s in the future. I’ll let you know when (if) this happens and I’d be happy for you use the implementation as an example. Cheers Bishwa
