The Australian Ski Patrol Association is the recognised peak body for ski patroller training in Australia, and will be conducting its Advanced Emergency Care course in Tasmania in March 2015. The course is specifically designed for ski patrollers and seeks to develop strong knowledge and skills, focused on the management of a wide range of possible first aid emergencies in the alpine setting.
The course will be offered in both Launceston and Hobart:
The Launceston course will be held on 21-22 March at Youngtown Primary School starting at 8:00 am
The Hobart course will be held on 28-29 March at Scots Church, 29 Bathurst St starting at 8:00 am
More details can be found at http://www.skipatrol.org.au/index.php/courses
The course is specifically targeting re-certification of existing ski patrollers, but any new patroller is most welcome. If you are interested in joining the Mt Mawson Ski Patrol, and would like to learn more please contact Craig Larsson at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would like as many people as possible to become involved in Ski Patrol – it is a very important part of providing downhill skiing in Tasmania, and a great activity to be involved in.
