Great Turn Out

Whilst it was grey and drizzly in Hobart, it was a beautiful day at Mt Mawson – sunny, calm and quiet. Conditions were ideal for the first day of our April working bee, and we had a great turn out of volunteers to work on preparing for the 2014 ski season. STSA delivered an extra load of timber to the mountain, and we were able to have several teams working on repairing damaged snow fencing on the Uni run. Excellent progress was made, with six panels  restored, and a trailer load of old timber removed from the mountain. Julian Oakes headed out to Rodway Tow to undertake important maintenance on the tow motor, and to conduct an inspection of the rope and pulleys.

It is great to see all the snow fence panels standing ready for the arrival of snow – a big thanks to everyone who willingly helped today:

Rodway Tow:  Julian Oakes, Simon and Ann  Gould

Uni Tow:   George and Adrian Brettingham-Moore, Mike and Penny Wadsley, Peter and Karen Davis, Eve Winter, Andrew and Peter Koch, Bruce and Deb Terry, Mark Underwood, Tracey Pitman, Tom Clemens
