Ski tracks between Mawson and Uni runs at Mt Mawson Ski Field 24 Aug 19

As predicted a big crowd of snow enthusiasts travelled to Mt Field National Park to enjoy great snow conditions at Mt Mawson Ski Field today. In typical Tasmanian fashion the day started with some drizzle, but progressively cleared to a great day with plenty of snow and good visibility.

A good turnout of volunteers from the Wellington Ski and Outdoor Club had both Mawson and Uni tows operating, with a good mix of boarders and skiers enjoying the conditions (including a number of people trying out the tow for the first time). Once again the public Day Shelter was a popular lunch spot.

Thanks for the offer Nathan – we’ll definitely check it out in the morning. Apparently quite a few people were skiing and boarding it today, even without the tow!
